Hello friends! I’m seeking a publisher or agent for my book, Climactic: A Consumer’s Guide to Saving the Planet. I’ll share a brief description and list of chapter titles below and my next post will contain an excerpt.
If you are interested in publishing or representing this book (or know somebody who might be interested) please contact me to receive a book proposal. Thank you!

Climactic tackles the topic of ethical consumption from two perspectives. As a scientist, I take an impartial look at the best ways for consumers to improve their social and environmental impact. As a consumer, I explore how we can reduce our footprints without compromising our happiness.
That last point grew into something bigger as I worked on the book. We tend to view lifestyle changes that address global problems such as climate change and poverty as personal sacrifices. But as I explored this path of ethical consumption (reducing harm) I experienced contentment that’s much more stable than the ups and downs of dopamine hits.
Besides improving our mental and spiritual health, tapping into the power that we hold as consumers is one of the most effective forms of resistance and activism.
Climactic addresses the two major barriers to dealing with our most pressing social and environmental issues:
- Uncertainty: What are the most responsible consumer choices?
- Self-interest: What’s in it for me?

Good luck with this and sorry at the moment I do not know. My publisher is for fiction. I am amazed ny your blog and the articles, really accessible research too. I am beginning to think though that our fish in the sea are really suffering and not near sustainable.

Thanks Georgina – much appreciated.
Regarding fish, the kind of seafood you choose (and third-party certifications) make a big difference to ocean health. Some fisheries (e.g., Atlantic Northwest Cod) are able to rebound if allowed to, so not all is lost.
Bear in mind that some kinds of meat (beef, especially) contribute so much to climate change and water pollution that they have a huge impact on oceans (temperature, acidification, and eutrophication). Everything is connected!

Yes, well managed fisheries that allow for more fish and the whole ecosystems to thrive are essential. Then we humans can benefit into the future!
